As part of our Gamers Sanctuary Launch Party, we are kicking off the day's events with a Warhammer Fantasy tournament. It will be a 1500 point event, and will start at noon next week Saturday. Entry fee for this event is $10, and will include prizes, food, and a whole lot of fun. We have some terrific surprises in store for everyone that day, so bring your army and come join us for a terrific gaming bash!

1500 point seems kind of weird, are you just trying to get the games to be a little shorter? Usually the average game is about 2250, because at that level you're allowed to bring Lord characters, not to mention other reasons as well.

I think that was the idea - to have a tournament, but for it not to run into the late evening in case players from that want to play Warmachine or EDH at 7:00pm. I am assuming that that was the thinking behind 1500 pts.

Yeah, part of the reason for the 1500 point list is to try to keep the event managable as we'll have a number of events running Saturday. Also, even though we've run Fantasy tourneys in the past they were usually run by someone outside GS. This is the first Fantasy tourney we're running in house (so to speak) so we want to make it easy for us so that we can see what doesn't work and what does so that in 2010 our Fantasy tourneys will be great.... not just good.
